Tierrasanta, San Diego

Called “The Island in the Hills,” Tierrasanta is just south of the 52 and east of the 15, and was originally part of the Mission San Diego de Alcalá ranch, then became Camp Elliott during WWII. After the war the Navy moved out and Tierrasanta was founded in 1971, and now it has grown to become a quiet, family friendly community of over 30,000.
